Too many buildings in New York are architectural examples. Apart from the towering and modern skyscrapers, the city has old and beautifully preserved buildings.

New York City Hall

New York City Hall (New York City Hall) is located in the center of City Hall Park in the Civic Center area of Lower Manhattan, between Broadway, Park Row and Chambers Street. The building is the oldest City Hall in the United States, where it still houses the original government functions, such as the office of the Mayor of New York and the New York City Council.

Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse

Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse is a Revival-style courthouse located at 40 Foley Square in the Civic Center neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City. The building, designed by Cass Gilbert and his son, Cass Gilbert Jr., is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a US Courthouse.

Fraunces Tavern Museum

Fraunces Tavern is a tavern, restaurant and museum housed in an imaginative reconstruction of a building that played an important role in pre-Revolutionary and Revolutionary American history. Fraunces Tavern, located at the corner of 54 Pearl Street and Broad Street, is considered one of Manhattan’s oldest surviving buildings. The building is a tourist spot and a part of the American Whiskey Trail and the New York Freedom Trail.

Cathedral of St. John the Divine

Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the cathedral of the Diocese of New York. It is located on Amsterdam Avenue between West 110th Street and 113th Street in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. The cathedral competes with Liverpool Cathedral for the title of largest Anglican cathedral and church. It is also the fourth largest Christian church in the world. The interior covers 11,200 square meters, extending to a length of 183.2 meters and a height of 70.7 meters. The internal height of the main church is 37.8 meters.

Dakota Building

Dakota Building, constructed between October 25, 1880 and October 27, 1884, is an apartment building located on the northwest corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. The building is widely known as the site of the murder of musician John Lennon. The architectural firm Henry Janeway Hardenbergh was commissioned to create the design for Edward Clark, head of the Singer sewing machine company. The same firm also designed the Plaza Hotel.
